Audition to Sing at the Imbolc Festival 2025
Sing and celebrate St Brigid and women at the Imbolc Festival 2025!
Martina Ryan Murphy, Choral Director of Siamsa Tíre’s choir invites all female singers – of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds – to audition for an extraordinary celebration of women and Irish culture as part of the St Brigid’s Imbolc Festival 2025.
Auditions take place Saturday, 23rd November from 12 noon to 4pm at Siamsa Tíre.
The selected choir will rehearse fortnightly from 7th December at Siamsa Tíre from 11am to 1pm in preparation for a one-night-only event on Sunday 2nd February 2025, marking Imbolc and the feast of St Brigid.
This special project aims to bring together over 100 multi-generational female voices from across Kerry to honor the legacy of Irish women in culture, politics, and the arts. Singers will perform beautiful compositions, including works by Irish female writers, alongside poetry and other cultural expressions.
Martina Ryan Murphy shared her excitement: “We look forward to working with women of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds to create a multicultural celebration of women. We are excited to combine beautiful music compositions, some from Irish female writers, with poetry and other elements of Irish culture, politics, and the arts.”
Participants will receive sheet music and line-learning tracks to practice independently between rehearsals, ensuring everyone feels confident and prepared for the event.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of a unique, empowering musical experience.
