January 2025 at Siamsa Tíre:
1st Jan: Accommodation Offer – Tralee’s newest boutique hotel, The James starts off the New Year in style by kindly offering patrons of Siamsa Tíre a discount of 10% off of their best available rates, no advance booking needed. 2nd-4th Jan: Aladdin – Tickets are always like gold-dust for our Christmas Panto and this year was no different. Congratulations to Oliver Hurley Productions on creating pure New Year magic in our theatre.
15th-18th Jan: The Wiz – by Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School Another busy week of musical theatre with packed houses for both the evening shows and the morning school performances. Well done to all the teachers and students involved in what was the school’s 23rd annual show.
20th Jan: 8 Week Dance Classes – We had great fun with those who joined our Musical Theatre Dance and Jig-Fit Irish Dance fitness classes with Justin Walsh who has a long history with Irish dance touring the world with Michael Flatley. Keep an eye out for our new term which starts very soon!
22nd -23rd Jan: The Lion King by Firies National School – A fantastic musical with sold out performances. The sheer coordination of having all 260 children on stage for the entire performance was nothing short of remarkable. Well done to all involved, the children were absolutely wonderful!
25th Jan: The Dream Maker by LD Dance – A gorgeous production by Laura Daly Dance Studio and her hard-working dancers with a well-deserved sold out show!
25th Jan: Launch of Siamsa Screen Film Club – Siamsa Tíre announced the launch of our brand new Siamsa Screen Film Club with Kerry International Film Festival. A brilliant line of film gems that will be screened every month throughout 2025. A special Film Club membership rate was offered – book all six screenings and save €13.50!

1st Feb: Event Guides – The ever-popular Siamsa Tíre Event Guides are hot off the press and posted out to all subscribers as well as being available to pick up in local businesses. The perfect way to see what’s on at Siamsa Tíre up to June 2025. View Digital Guide
1st Feb: The Square Tomato by Lisa Fingleton – A record turn out for this exhibition which addressed the use of chemicals in our food systems. Attendees were fascinated by ‘Monto Man’ who hung from our gallery ceiling. The exhibition ran from 1st Feb – 22nd Mar 2025 with free entry.

1st Feb: Fledermaus by Irish National Opera – This hilarious opera sold out FAST and attendees loved our bubbles bar on the night, our little nod to the champagne fuelled story of Fledermaus!
2nd Feb: Healing, Fire & Song – St Brigid’s Imbolc Festival 2025 – Attendees were treated to beautifully curated compositions and traditional pieces performed by Cór Siamsa Tíre and Éist Éirú, prose and poetry from a diverse community of female readers from across Munster and further afield and enchanting dance from Laura Daly’s School of Dance students. The choral group brought together over 90 multi-generational and multi-denominational women from across Kerry and further afield. We were honoured to be joined by Norma Foley, Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth of Ireland who also spoke at the event.
4th Feb: Swing Bout (Movie) – The screening launched our monthly film club movies curated by Kerry International Film Festival The event had an amazing turn out of almost 170 attendees who were treated to a Q&A with the movie’s Director Maurice O’Carroll and cast members afterwards! Don’t worry, if you missed it, we’ll be screening another fantastic movie La Chimera on 22nd April. Tickets are only €8 +bf! Book La Chimera
7th Feb: Rock Rising – Attendees almost brought the house down during this sold-out evening of rock music with its stunning custom designed light and pyrotechnic show. It was so popular we had to get the band back for another concert and they will play again at Siamsa Tíre this February! Book Rock Rising 2026
8th – 9th Feb: Dorothy by the Academy of Dance, two sold-out spectacular performances of Classical Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Acro, Contemporary and Modern Jazz by this talented group of dancers.
14th Feb: Happy Valentine’s Day – A big thank you to our work experience student Iosa for all of his help during his two week placement. Iosa is studying Art, Craft & Design at Kerry College and he brightened up our Valentine’s Day by bringing home-made treats in for the staff to enjoy. We wish you the very best in your studies.
15th Feb: Three Short Comedies by Druid Theatre. This national tour marked the beginning of their 50th anniversary programme. The hilarious slap-stick show offered a choice of matinee or (sold-out) evening performance, both included two intervals which provided the perfect no fuss, no stress comedy show. Wishing Druid Theatre huge congratulations on their 50th Anniversary.
16th Feb: Legends of American Country – A real treat for all country music lovers with this fantastic night of toe-tapping Country nostalgia by jmgmusicgroup.com
20th Feb – Colouring Competition – Congratulations to Grace (8) and Fiadh (5) winners of our Christmas colouring competition, who came into Siamsa Tíre to collect their prizes. Each won a €25 voucher for Kelliher’s Toymaster

20th Feb: Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Screening – Summer 2024 was the inaugural show from Siamsa Productions and we held a special private screening of our Summer 2024 musical for all of the cast and crew to enjoy!
21st – 22nd Feb: Deirdre O’Kane Needless to say, tickets sold out so fast that we had to put on a second show which also sold out!
23rd Feb: Pucked – GAA fans turned up in style for this one-man play by Cathal Ryan and it sparked the debate on which is the greatest sport – football or hurling??!
25th Feb: The Square Tomato School Workshops – A special morning event for local schools to bring their students to Siamsa Tíre to explore our art exhibit ‘The Square Tomato’ and meet the artist Lisa Fingleton.
26th Feb – 1st Mar: Jesus Christ Superstar – This fantastic rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice was presented by Light Opera Society Tralee. School matinees were enjoyed by local primary and secondary school students who received a discounted school rate. While the high energy dance numbers and poignant musical moments were enjoyed by all ages at our jam-packed evening performances.
March 2025 at Siamsa Tíre:
4th March – Happy Pancake Tuesday! A very special thanks to one of our clients who sent us surprise pancakes and treats from The Lakeside Cafe at Tralee Bay Wetlands
4th.11th & 13th Mar: The Square Tomato School Workshops – A special morning event for local schools to bring their students to Siamsa Tíre to explore our art exhibit ‘The Square Tomato’ and meet the artist Lisa Fingleton.
4th Mar: Film Tarrac – This was the second screening of our monthly film club movies curated by Kerry International Film Festival. This uplifting Irish-language feature was shot along the Dingle Peninsula and was screened as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025. Don’t worry, if you missed it, we’ll be screening another fantastic movie La Chimera on 22nd April. Tickets are only €8 +bf! Book La Chimera
7th Mar: Comedian Gearóid Farrelly – A hilarious evening of stand up comedy by the brilliant Gearóid Farrelly who had just finished as a contestant on the hit RTÉ show Dancing with the Stars before joining us at Siamsa Tíre. He may not have won the Glitter Ball Trophy but he won our hearts!
8th Mar: Art Workshop ‘The Art of Sustenance, Sisterhood and Solidarity’ – A special event in honour of International Woman’s Day 2025 featuring five professional female artists Bernadette Kiely, Lisa Fingleton, Silke Michels, Zoë Uí Fhaoláin and Zoe Rush, this was a very inspiring sold-out event for creatives, amateur and professional.
8th Mar: FREE Puppet Workshop for Children A sold-out event celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025 where children aged 4-10yrs enjoyed crafting their very own paper puppets and put on a show As Gaeilge!
8th Mar: Legends of the 60’s Show – This show by Jmgmusicgroup.com had the ultimate feelgood factor and transported the audience (and staff) all the way hand clapping, swinging and singing back to that magical golden decade that was the 1960’s.
13th Mar: Launch of Summer Camps – Siamsa Tíre announced the news that our 2025 summer have just been launched and the theme will be The Wizard of Oz! Perfect for all children who love to sing, dance and create art. Camps will take place in July. More Info
13th March: Dirtbirds – Ireland’s Queens of Comedy brought the house down with their hilarious show ‘Girls World Tour’.
15th Mar: Coffee Morning for Seachtain na Gaeilge – Fundraiser for Recovery Haven. This event was organised by Trá Lí le Gaeilge together with Siamsa Tíre. Irish speakers of all levels were welcome to attend, no matter how much or how little Irish they had. The goal of this event was to promote the use of the Irish language in Tralee, while also raising money for a very worthy cause and the charity are delighted to announce that the event raised a fantastic €513! 16th Mar: Patrick Feeney in Concert – A wonderful live music event to celebrate St. Patrick’s Bank Holiday weekend in style with one of Sligo’s favourite Patrick’s!
17th Mar: Happy St. Patrick’s Day! The Siamsa Tíre building was closed so that all staff could celebrate with their families. Congratulations to Tralee parade organisers Oliver Hurley and Ken Murphy on organising such an amazing parade titled ‘Waves of Change’.

19th Mar: Night Dances by Emma Martin (United Fall) & NASC – Attendees were told to expect loud music, atmospheric lighting and an exhilarating experience and they were not disappointed! Not for the faint hearted, this was a fiercely exhilarating performance of pure dance and live music, featuring amazing young acro dancers from Studio 85 Dublin. Siamsa Tíre offered local dance schools a very special discounted ticket rate so that all dance students could come and enjoy this unique show. unitedfall.com
21st Mar: An Evening with Michael Harding – A sold-out show with Cavan writer Michael Harding as he brought to life the Camino Walk and the father who shaped him. Michael stayed a little while afterwards to greet the audience and sign copies of his new book. He was also kind enough to take a selfie with Siamsa Tíre CEO Angela Ryan-Whyte.

21st Mar: Story Writing Workshop with Animation Dingle – This fantastic double feature of a story writing workshop and IFTA winning film screenings was hosted by Lena Byrne (RTÉ Jr) as part of Animation Dingle 2025. Especially for primary school students aged 8-12yrs to explore the endless possibilities the medium has to offer, including hand-drawn, CGI, stop motion and more. There were even a few surprises along the way as each student received a goodie bag from RTÉ Jr! A big Thank You to Lena for coming to Tralee to host this very special event, we received great feedback from the schools and the students had an absolute blast!

21st Mar: World Poetry Day An Open Mic Night – A special evening of poetry and music to celebrate World Poetry Day 2025. All were welcome to attend and/or participate at this free event which was presented by Tralee International Resource Centre and Kerry Immigrant Support Centre. This really was a gorgeous evening of poetry and music representing different cultural backgrounds and languages. Complementary finger food was provided and our bar was open on the night so that attendees could mingle and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. A highlight was Siamsa Tíre CEO Angela Ryan-Whyte performing some of her own poetry.

22nd Mar: Heaven – Theatre company Fishamble returned for a limited tour of its multi award-winning HEAVEN by Eugene O’Brien, following its hugely successful Off-Broadway, Edinburgh, and Off-West End runs, they performed a sold-out show at Siamsa Tíre.
27th – 28th Mar: Legally Blond Jr – More sold-out musical theatre presented by the students of The Brian Carr School of Performing Arts. Harvard’s beloved blonde took to the stage by glittery pink storm in this fun and upbeat adaptation of the hit film and award-winning Broadway musical.
28th Mar – The Beautiful Forest official opening. A magical exhibition for children by Tatyana Feeney that brings to life two of her recent children’s books, Skipping Stones and Crann na nGuionna. The books and exhibition explore the trees and forests that inhabit Tatyana’s imagination, inspired from a childhood growing up in the woods of North Carolina. The exhibition runs until 25th April 2025 and is perfect for children aged 0-12yrs and their families to enjoy.
29th Mar: A Big Egg – Based on the picture book by Steven Lee and performed with a magical mixture of live action, animation and puppetry, this scrumptious family musical was presented by The People’s Theatre Company.
29th Mar: Reeling in the Showband Years – We had a jam-packed audience who enjoyed a nostalgic journey back in time to the magical Showband era. Presented by Tommy Swarbrigg Promotions
30th March – Happy Mother’s Day! Today we celebrated the special females in our lives who have loved us, guided us and who have always been there to offer a shoulder to lean on. To celebrate, we had Family Show ‘Family Shark’ to be enjoyed by the whole family or for Dad to bring the kids and give Mam some well deserved ‘Me Time’!
30th Mar: Family Shark Show: We said farewell to the month of March with a BITE as Fairy Tale Stage Show returned to Siamsa Tíre with their Family Shark Show, the story and songs of Baby Shark and his family (Yes, it had the ‘Baby Shark’ song, and we bet attendees were singing it all the way home!) Do, do, do, do, do, do….
