Fragmented Connections
'Fragmented Connections' by Christina O'Hara 22nd May - 7th June 2025
This exhibition was a mixed-media installation displaying ‘fragmented connections’ and consisted of a moving image piece, print-work and a largescale mixed-media sculpture. This large-scale installation was a portrait of Christina’s internal experience living with a connective tissue disorder. She gains a sense of empowerment through sharing an experience that is invisible to so many.
She hopes that through sharing her installation ‘Fragmented Connections’, she can bring more awareness to under-represented communities in society, like those with invisible illness. Her moving image piece ‘Circumnavigating a Subluxed Reality’ was a form of self expression, representing a light-hearted, abstracted journey to find the beauty in her
fragile internal experience. She believes that her work can act as a catalyst for more nuanced conversations on disabilities/invisible illness.
